VE Commodore Engines

The VE Commodore series offered a range of engine options to suit a variety of driving styles and preferences. Here’s an list of the engines available. To read more about each engine click on each link:

VE Commodore V6 Engines

Series I VE Commodore V6 Engines 2006 – 2010

  1. 3.6L Alloytec LE0 V6 : The standard 3.6L Alloytec V6 LE0 was the base engine for the VE Commodore. It offered a balance of power and fuel efficiency, making it a versatile choice for everyday driving. Power output 180KW.
  2. 3.6L Dual Fuel (LPG) Alloytec LW2 V6: This engine variant the Alloytec LW2, was designed to run on both petrol and LPG, offering flexibility for drivers who want to take advantage of the cost savings associated with LPG fuel. Power output 175KW.
  3. 3.6L V6 LY7 Alloytec 195: An upgraded version of the standard Alloytec V6, the Alloytec LY7 195 offered more power for those seeking improved performance. Power output 195KW.

Series II VE Commodore V6 Engines 2010 – 2013

  1. 3.0L LF1 3.0L SIDI V6 (MY10 onwards): Introduced in the MY10 lineup, this smaller-displacement 3.0L V6 engine featured Spark Ignition Direct Injection (SIDI) technology for greater fuel efficiency and reduced emissions. Power output 190KW.
  2. 3.6L SIDI V6 (LLT) Engine (MY10 onwards): This standard petrol engine combined the larger displacement of the 3.6L V6 with SIDI technology for better performance without sacrificing fuel economy. Power output 210KW.
  3. 3.6L SIDI V6 (LFX) Engine: This standard and E85 petrol engine combined the larger displacement of the 3.6L V6 with SIDI technology for better performance with improved fuel economy due to using E85 fuel. Power output 210KW.
  4. 3.6L SIDI V6 (LWR) Engine: This LPG engine combined the larger displacement of the 3.6L V6 with SIDI technology for improved fuel economy due to LPG, power output 180KW.

VE Commodore V8 Engines

  1. 6.0L L98 Gen IV 270kW V8: For drivers seeking the raw power and throaty growl of a V8, the 6.0L L98 Gen IV engine delivered a hefty 270kW of power.
  2. 6.0L L76 Gen IV V8 (MY9.5 and MY10 Auto only): This variant of the 6.0L V8 was available with automatic transmission models only, and it featured Active Fuel Management technology to improve fuel efficiency. Power output 260KW.
  3. 6.0L L77 Gen IV 260kW V8 (VE Series II, MY12 onwards): In the VE Series II lineup, the L77 V8 engine offered slightly less power than the L98, but it was compatible with E85 bio-ethanol fuel, allowing for greater flexibility and potential cost savings. Power output 260 kW AFM version, 270KW non AFM variant.
