2011 Holden Commodore SV6 VE Series II Manual MY12

The Holden VE Commodore SV6: A Blend of Sportiness and Power

The Holden VE Commodore SV6, part of the VE series introduced in 2006, is an Australian automotive gem that beautifully combines sportiness with power.

The VE Commodore SV6, while sharing the same foundational features as the Omega, boasted a number of additional and upgraded features. It was equipped with the High Output LY7 variant of the Alloytec V6 engine (in the VE Series 1) and the 3.6 LLT SIDI V6 in the Series II, which is more powerful, paired with either a six-speed manual or a five-speed automatic transmission. Unlike the Omega at launch, the SV6 came standard with air conditioning.

In addition to these, the SV6 also featured a body kit and sports suspension akin to those found on the V8 Commodore SS/SS V models. The interior of the SV6 was designed with a performance aesthetic in mind, featuring a matte black center console and red lighting, contrasting the functional-style silver interior of the Omega.

The VE SV6 features sportier exterior elements compared to the Omega, featuring a spoiler, dual exhaust system as well as an altered lower grille.

Performance and Specifications

Under the hood, the SV6 boasts a robust 3.6-litre V6 engine, providing an impressive 195 kW (265 PS / 261 hp) of power and 340 Nm (251 lb-ft) of torque. This powertrain is mated to a six-speed manual or five-speed automatic transmission, delivering a responsive and engaging driving experience.

The SV6 also features the FE2 suspension, which offers a sportier ride compared to the standard Commodore setup. This, combined with the vehicle’s rear-wheel-drive layout, ensures a dynamic and exhilarating performance on the road.

Mechanically identical to the standard SV6, the Z Series added 19-inch charcoal alloy wheels, seats with leather bolsters, Z Series badges, Z Series carpet, a rearview camera, and rear sensors. The Z Series also offered optional extras like full leather upholstery, satellite navigation, a tilt-and-slide sunroof, and a full-size spare wheel.

In conclusion, the Holden VE Commodore SV6 is a remarkable vehicle that offers a perfect blend of sportiness and power.
